Pane (Cheese Bread)

Ingredients
- 1 loaf Italian or French Bread
- 1/2 c. Butter or Margarine
- 2/3 c. Romano Cheese (or Hard Sharp Cheddar Cheese), grated
- 1/2 c. Parmesan Cheese, grated
- 1 tsp. M-K Paprika
- Mozzarella Cheese, thinly sliced
- 1/4 tsp. M-K Granulated Garlic
Directions
- Slice the loaf of Italian or French bread in half lengthwise.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter.
- Add the grated Romano or Cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, M-K Paprika, and M-K Granulated Garlic to the melted butter. Stir the mixture only to blend; do not let the cheeses melt entirely.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
To Assemble and Bake
- Cover the cut surfaces of the bread with thinly sliced Mozzarella cheese.
- Spread the prepared butter and cheese mixture evenly over the Mozzarella cheese.
- Arrange the bread on a cookie sheet.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the bread is lightly browned around the edges and on top.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- Cut the Cheesy Garlic Bread into portions and serve while hot.
