Ingredients
- 1/2 c. Oil
- 1 c. Flour
- 3 cloves Garlic, chopped
- 1 lg. Onion, chopped
- 1 c. Green Onions, chopped
- M-K Granulated Black Pepper (to taste)
- Salt (to taste)
- 1/2 c. Parsley, chopped
- 1/2 c. Bell Peppers, chopped
- 1/4 c. Celery, chopped
- 2 lb. Shrimp
- 1 1/2 lb. Sausage
- M-K File Powder (to taste)
Directions
- In a large gumbo pot, make a roux using the oil and flour.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it becomes caramel in color.
- Remove from heat and add all the ingredients, excluding the M-K File Powder.
- Boil for approximately 2 hours or until meat is tender and gumbo thickens.
- Incorporate shrimp and cook for another 20 minutes.
- Stir in the M-K File Powder according to your taste preference.
- Serve over a bed of hot rice.
