Ingredients
- 1/2 c. Oil
- 1 c. Flour
- 1 lg. Onion, chopped
- 3 cloves Garlic, chopped
- 1 c. Green Onions, chopped
- M-K Granulated Black Pepper (to taste)
- Salt (to taste)
- 1/2 c. Parsley, chopped
- 1/2 c. Bell Peppers, chopped
- 1/4 c. Celery, chopped
- 1 1/2 lb. Chicken
- 1 1/2 lb. Sausage
- M-K File Powder (to taste)
Directions
- In a large gumbo pot, prepare a roux using the oil and flour.
- Consistently stir over medium heat until the roux attains a caramel shade.
- Take off the heat and integrate all the other ingredients, leaving out the M-K File Powder.
- Allow it to boil for around 2 hours or until the meats are tender and the gumbo consistency thickens.
- Fold in the M-K File Powder according to your desired taste.
- Ladle over steaming rice to serve.
