Ingredients
- 1 can Fruit Cocktail, drained (reserve syrup)
- 1/2 can Peaches, sliced, drained (reserve syrup)
- 1/2 can Pears, halved, drained (reserve syrup)
- 1/4 c. Sugar
- 1/4 c. Water
- 4 M-K Whole Allspice
- 1/2 tsp. M-K Ground Cinnamon
- 4 to 5 M-K Whole Cloves
- 1 pinch M-K Ground Nutmeg
- 1 slice Lemon
- 1/2 tsp. M-K Pure Vanilla Extract
Directions
- Preparation of Fruits: Combine the drained fruit cocktail, peaches, and pears in a large bowl. Toss gently to mix and place in the refrigerator to chill.
- Preparing the Spiced Syrup: In a saucepan, combine the reserved fruit syrups, sugar, water, M-K Whole Allspice, M-K Ground Cinnamon, M-K Whole Cloves, M-K Ground Nutmeg, and the slice of lemon.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 3 minutes.
- After simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the syrup to remove the whole spices and lemon slice.
- Allow the spiced syrup to cool down to room temperature. Once it’s cooled, stir in the M-K Pure Vanilla Extract.
- Assembling the Fruit Cup: Take the chilled fruits out of the refrigerator and pour the cooled spiced syrup over them. Gently mix to ensure the fruits are well-coated with the syrup.
- Return the bowl to the refrigerator and let it chill for at least an hour to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve the Spiced Fruit Cup in individual bowls, ensuring each serving has a good mix of fruits and is well-drizzled with the spiced syrup.
- Enjoy this refreshing and aromatic fruit cup as a delightful start or finish to any meal!
